MotionX GPS by MotionX is a full-featured GPS and map application.

MotionX is the most accurate GPS app on the market today. Downloading maps is free and includes road, terrain, and NOAA marine charts. With the ability to track over 500 waypoints, monitor live speed, and graph your altitude, you’ll never find yourself wanting more functionality.

Maps can be downloaded and stored on your device to allow access even when you have no network connection available. The maps are cached for quick access whenever needed. Navigation uses the built-in device compass to allow for true or magnetic bearings. On-screen visualizations help you to see your progress and ETA while navigating.

Tracks and waypoints can be shared over Facebook and Twitter, or you can email to friends for viewing in Google maps and Google Earth.  You can also share, in real time, your current location using the Auto Live updates. You can also post a check-in location directly to Facebook.

I love the offline maps function of this app. I can download the maps for the area I am travelling and won’t have to worry about data and download problems. The trip timer and distance meter keep me abreast of my progress and the on screen display makes following my waypoints fun and easy.
