Wikipedia Mobile

Price: FREE

Wikipedia Mobile for iPad by Wikimedia Foundation is the official Wikipedia app, giving full access to over 20 million articles in a whopping 280 languages.

This app allows you to save articles for later offline viewing, as well as offering full online sharing via Facebook and Twitter.

Wikipedia Mobile for iPad was updated to version 2.0 in mid-February of 2013. The current version has a total of 4.8 customer ratings with an average rating of 3.5 out of five stars.

The latest update included improved landscape support for iOS 6, improved iPhone 5 optimization, and native Facebook sharing for iOS 6.

Wikipedia Mobile is an open-source app and Wikimedia Foundation is always interested in hearing from developers, so if you have any suggestions for improvements and additions to future updates, be sure to let them know.

Be aware, updating Wikipedia Mobile for iPad will cause all of your saved articles to be lost.

I am a complete information junkie and have spent an unspeakable amount of time embarking upon what I like to call Wikisafaris. I will start reading about a subject and then click on to something related, and before I know it, I’ve read two-dozen pages and I’m so far down the rabbit-hole, I don’t even know where I started.

Wikipedia is a great app to get lost in, if you love to learn. With focus and a particular subject in mind, it is a powerful tool, and without, it is plain old fun.

For: iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad with iOS 4.3 or later. Optimized for iPhone 5.
