Epicurious Recipes & Shopping List

Price: Free

Epicurious Recipes & Shopping by Condé Nast Digital turns your iPad into a recipe book made up of award-winning selections from the site Epicurious.com.

There are in fact over 30,000 delectable recipes from Gourmet, Bon Appetit, Self, and a number of well-known chefs and various cookbooks. The variety of recipes is immense so you'll never be at a loss for meal ideas.

Besides the extensive collection of recipes there are also plenty of other features on this app. Every time you come across a recipe you like you can save it to your favorites and store it in your Recipe Box. The app also allows you to email recipes, make shopping lists, email your shopping lists, and even have access to recipe reviews.

You can search the recipe database by keyword, browse the popular recipe collections. Use the filters to sort between what's in season, what you currently have in your cupboards, what's healthy, what's ideal for the holidays, and more.

Besides sharing your favorite recipes by email you can also post them to Twitter and Facebook. Many of the recipes include nutritional information, which comes in handy if you have any dietary restrictions.

Epicurious Recipes & Shopping was updated on Jan. 22, 2013 and currently has 84 customer ratings with an average rating of two out of five stars.

I think the most enjoyable part about this app for me was the ability to follow along on my iPad as I cooked thanks to the "cooking-friendly views." The full-screen cookbook view showed me photos, ingredients, and prep steps all on one screen so I didn't need to flip through screens as I cooked.

For: iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad with iOS 4.3 or later
