Amtrak by Amtrak is a travel app that lets users experience a new way of riding with Amtrak.

With an easy to use interface, and up-to-date information as trains arrive, booking your trip on the go has never been easier. Check your train status so you won’t be caught off guard by delays or an early arrival. Have your eTicket ready to go on your app, and add it to passbook, saving you time and greatly increasing convenience.

Connect to your Amtrak rewards account and share your travel with family and friends on Facebook and Twitter. Check into stations and collect stamps while reaching milestones. The latest update provides users with numerous bug fixes and performance improvements.

Amtrak was updated to Version 1.4 on January 23, 2013. It has a total of 548 customer ratings with an average of three out of five stars. Feedback has been primarily negative with a wide amount of users frustrated with functionality issues and crashes with the app.

I am not one for using Amtrak so this app does not offer me a lot of value, but if you travel with Amtrak it would only make sense to use this app.  I would enjoy having the ability to purchase tickets without having to carry around a cumbersome laptop or having to call and speak to someone, so I can see some big benefits to having this app.
