QuakeFeed Earthquakes With Push Notifications

Price: FREE

QuakeFeed Earthquakes for iPad by Artisan Global LLC is an app that provides details and history of all earthquakes >2.5 magnitude. This app will also provide push notifications for any earthquakes >6.0 magnitude.

This app is ideal for locating earthquakes that are near to you by utilizing GPS functionality. Quakes can be viewed in a list or on a map according to magnitude, duration, location, and depth.

Earthquakes can be viewed either on a shaded relief map, or a map of the ocean floor, and plate lines can be displayed as a map overlay.

QuakeFeed Earthquakes also offers full support for sharing via Facebook, Twitter, and Email, so you can forward seismic alerts to your loved ones online.

QuakeFeed Earthquakes for iPad was updated to version 2.2.1 in mid-January of 2013. The current version has a total of 296 customer ratings with an average rating of five out of five stars.

I am fortunate enough not to live near any major fault lines; however, I can imagine this app being incredibly useful to have on hand. The push notifications are particularly useful and can be customized by using an in-app purchase.

For: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad with iOS 5.0 or later. Optimized for iPhone 5.
