TextGrabber + Translator by ABBYY lets you translate and edit photos of text.

Turn your iPhone into a fully functional page scanner with the ability to translate the text of more than 60 languages. You can scan an entire standard page of text and the program will immediately let you edit, copy, or convert the text.

TextGrabber + Translator is capable of translating into more than 60 languages accurately and immediately and you can translate an additional 40 languages with Internet connection. All captured text can be copied to the clipboard and pasted into other apps. You can also share all scanned text with friends via Facebook, email, Twitter, or SMS.  Translation of some languages does require an Internet connection so please be aware of the data usage when using this app.

TextGrabber + Translator was recently updated to Version 2.7 as of February 8, 2013 and included some improvements to the recognition algorithm and support for newer devices. Please be aware that this app is not intended for devices other than the following: iPhone 5, 4S, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.

I have to admit, I am very impressed with this app’s ability to read scanned images. Even in low light with less-than-stellar skills at taking a photo this app successfully records and reads the text.
