Living Lung is incredibly detailed with extremely high-resolution respiratory models and textures, as a result it is not compatible with first generation iPads. This app is a member in a series of apps that have been designed specifically for the iPad by a team of anatomists, certified medical illustrators, animators, and programmers using incredibly accurate 3D modeling technology and CT imaging data.

Living Lung does not use pre-rendered frames like some of the other apps do, it utilizes true real-time 3D. Place the highly detailed rib cage, lungs, and associated structures any way you like and zoom in for a closer look at the anatomical features. You will be aided by animated transparent structures in the exploration of the bronchi and key vascular components.

Living Lung was released on November 11, 2012. It has a total of 33 customer ratings with an average of three and a half out of five stars. Feedback is positive with users amazed with the incredible high resolution and detail this app provides. Users love this app for its potential as an educational tool.

This is a really beautiful app, and if anyone has lung or respiratory issues I would highly recommend checking it out. In my opinion the coolest part to this app is the ability to increase or decrease the breaths per minute and actually see the effects it has on your respiratory system.
