Kwixer by Rodrigue Hajjar is an app for your iOS device that gives you recommendations for all your entertainment interests.

This app takes all of your interests and makes recommendations to you based on what you’ve “Kwixed,” as well as other interests of people who “Kwixed” the same thing. For example, if you say you really enjoyed the movie Skyfall, the app will recommend to you music by Adele, movies enjoyed by other people who also liked Skyfall, and other movies similar in genre to Skyfall that you haven’t yet seen.

You get to rate all types of entertainment: video games, movies, books, songs or music artists, and even restaurants and pubs. You can also share those items or places with your friends through the app or on Twitter and Facebook. Even if you don’t want to share the things you’ve enjoyed, you can still use the app, although the social aspect of it adds more depth.

You can learn about the recommendations Kwixer makes for you based on what you’ve done, add the books you’ve read, movies you’ve seen, and more, and keep a list so you don’t forget, and see what your friends have done so you get ideas about what to do on your next night out.

The Kwixer Board lays out your interests in a way you’ve probably never seen before. For example, you may have several favorite movies but may not realize they’ve all be written or directed by the same person.

Kwixer was updated to Version 1.0.5 on January 26, 2013. The update made some bug fixes. The app is available in many languages. It doesn’t have enough ratings in the App Store for iTunes to display an average yet.

I really like this app. I particularly like that it makes connections to some things that might not be obvious, like the artist who performs the movie’s soundtrack or theme song. I also really enjoy the Kwixer Board for seeing connections between things I enjoy.
