Having precision tools can make all the difference in the final product and that is what iHandy Carpenter is all about. Included in this app are five high-quality, high-precision measuring tools.

A plumb bob is a tool that allows you to measure vertical alignment. Typically you would dangle the bob on the end of a string and it would show you where the exact corresponding point on the floor is in comparison to the ceiling. The surface level lets you measure a flat plane and check it for trueness to the horizon.

The other tools included are a bubble level bar, steel protractor, and a steel ruler. Using the precision gyroscope built into your device, this app is able to very accurately measure, align, and level anything you are working on. The app has a built-in calibration function which ensures that your measurements are always accurate.

iHandy Carpenter was last updated to Version 2.1.2 on August 1, 2012 and included some minor bug fixes. There have been 820 ratings for this app with an average score of 4.5 out of five stars.

I like the combination of tools included in this app. Once you have completed calibration you can start checking everything in your home for trueness, your wife will never have to doubt your ability to hang that picture straight again.
