Field Trip by Google, Inc. helps you discover all sorts of cool hidden things around you.
This app works by running in the background on your mobile device. As you go about your daily activities it will alert you when something unique/interesting is near you. You'll be notified if you have your Bluetooth or headset connected.
So what exactly can you learn through this app? Well, it's more like what can't you learn! You'll find information such as the best place to eat, the best place to grab a drink, the best place to shop, and the best place to have fun. Tap on the feeds that interest you and then you'll be given more information automatically when you walk or drive nearby to them.
You can choose from three different modes to set the frequency of the Field Trip notifications. It will work while walking or driving. If you're driving the app can talk to you instead so it gives you hands-free capabilities.
You can mark spots as favorites and share these same places by Google+, Facebook, Twitter, and by email.
Check out the "recent" section to find all the recent field trip cards you've read about.
Field Trip was released on Mar. 7, 2013 and currently has 95 customer ratings with an average rating of three out of five stars.
The one big downfall about this app was the fact it was always running in the background if you want to be alerted to all these cool finds. This of course will drain your battery pretty quickly.
