The Chalk Box Story by Auryn Inc. is an education app that provides users with an interactive storybook for kids, based on the classic tale by "Corduroy" author Don Freeman.

This story is about a boy who is stranded on an island and the turtle that comes to rescue him. Sit back and watch as eight magical pieces of chalk draw you an adventure and transforms blank paper into a beautifully illustrated story. Along the way your children will learn colors and the importance of teamwork. Your child will be encouraged to color along with the story, learning object association.

The interactive participation will have children improving their vocabulary skills and there is a fun karaoke effect which will highlight the word when spoken. You can listen to a narrated story with the text displayed, or choose to have narration off, and your child can simply color the picture at his or her own pace and leisure.

The Chalk Box Story was updated to Version 1.0.1 on January 19, 2013. It has a total of five customer ratings with an average of 4.5 out of five stars. My kid loves this app and it’s not too hard to see why. With beautiful drawings and a fun interactive approach, my child is captivated and entertained, while still learning at the same time.
