QuakeWatch for iPad app review

Reviews

QuakeWatch

Price: $0.99

QuakeWatch by LateNightProjects is your key to up-to-date earthquake information on your iPad.

QuakeWatch is a very thorough, feature-rich reference to all of the most recent earthquakes of magnitude 1.0 or higher. If you follow the tectonic movements of the earth you will find this app to be right up your alley.

You can view the interactive map with tectonic plates which shows all of the reported earthquakes over the last seven days. You can pan and zoom the map to view different areas and see what locations have been affected. You can also sort the listings by most recent, largest, or closest earthquake to your location.

There are reporting services in the U.S., Europe, Canada, and several other locations that you can view as well as check for tsunami action in the various coastal locations. There is no other app that provides such complete information on this subject.

Sharing is what the Internet is all about and so it would only be prudent to be able to share your earthquake information with others. QuakeWatch allows you to spread the word by Facebook, Twitter, or SMS so that everyone can be well informed.

QuakeWatch was last updated to Version 3.1 on January 10, 2013 and included the tectonic plates on the maps and some expanded coverage. There have been 12 ratings to date with an average score of 4.5 out of five stars.

I enjoyed the high quality, large quantity of information this app provides. The interactive map is a great feature and the ability to track earthquakes around the world is pretty awesome too.

For: iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad with iOS 5.0 or later
