Team Umizoomi Math: Zoom into Numbers HD by Nickelodeon is a wonderful education app for your child to play on your iPad. This game is the #1 paid iPad app currently in the Education category.

Your son or daughter will use his or her math powers to explore, discover surprises, and play math games. There are a total of five games: Up! Up! And Balloons! (addition/subtraction), Toy Store (counting), Race Around Umi City (number comparison), Rolling Toy Parade (number line), and Number Bubbles (number identification).

Each of these games teaches different fundamental math concepts that all preschoolers should learn, such as rote counting, associating symbols with quantity, identifying numbers, reading number symbols, one-to-one number correspondence, and basic adding and subtracting.

Games are assigned levels and will increase in difficulty the further along the child gets. Your child will be provided hints to help him or her along as needed.

Players earn trophies and badges, which are tracked in the Umizoomi’s Headquarters. When your child gets enough, he or she will get a special key to Umi City.

There are five levels of games, developed on a curriculum designed by a preschool education expert. Instructions for the game are given by the voices of Geo, Milli, and Bot, members of Team Umizoomi.

If you have more than one child who plays, they can each create player profiles that will allow them to save their individual progress.

Team Umizoomi Math: Zoom into Numbers HD was updated to Version 2.0 on March 21, 2013. The update added the Shape Bandit, added achievements, and added new games. The app is available in English or French. The current version has 13 customer ratings with an average of 3.5 out of five stars.

I think this is a great game and my four year old daughter loves it. The graphics look great on the iPad and the colorful graphics and music are suitable for preschoolers. It’s a little pricey but other than that it’s a great game.
