Quick Scan by iHandy Inc. is meant to give you a fast and easy way to scan barcodes to discover additional information about the item.

This app can come in very handy if you're trying to save money while shopping as it will let you quickly compare prices on items. Think of it as a shopping companion to take with you. You'll find all kinds of retailers and brands on here so you'll have access to tons of information.

Features of the app include being able to scan any type of barcode (EAN, UPC, and ISBN), search for product details and prices from all major retailers, and even buy right from the app itself.

If you'd rather, you can type in the barcode rather than scanning it. Sort your results by site or price and save your favorite items for future quick reference. While scanning you can set the app to beep or vibrate each time it successfully completes the scan and you can set the app to act as an LED flashlight while scanning. The app supports iPhone 5, iOS 6, and Retina display.

If you come across products that catch your eye, go ahead and share them with friends and family by email so they can be smart shoppers as well and save money just like you.

Quick Scan was updated on Jan. 22, 2013 and currently has 494 customer ratings with an average rating of four and a half out of five stars.

I thought this was a wonderfully useful and easy way to shop, compare, and save money. I loved that I could even make purchases straight from the app.
