Venmo app review

Venmo

Price: Free

Venmo by Venmo gives you a way to securely and quickly pay people.

It's not just about sending money; you can also receive money with this app. You can pay with your debit card or even your bank account, all for free. People can also send you money and you can then transfer that money in your Venmo account to your bank account overnight.

So when does this app come in handy? There are a variety of situations including sharing a payment with friends or making a payment on utilities, rent, dinner, movies, drinks, concert tickets, birthdays, anniversaries, all kinds of events and items.

What's great is that by using this app there is no need to use an ATM and incur a fee, write a check, or wait for money being owed to you.

The latest version of the app added brand new privacy settings, portrait mode only for viewing, and fixed a bug. Venmo is a subsidiary of Braintree, which provides the power of payment to such apps as Airbnb, LivingSocial, Fab, Uber, Angry Birds, Taskrabbit, HotelTonight, and Github.

You can use the app's calculator tool to help figure out payments and the user-interface is extremely quick and simple to use.

Venmo was updated on Mar. 20, 2013 and currently has 53 customer ratings with an average rating of four and a half out of five stars.

I loved how easy this app made splitting a dinner bill, going in together on a big gift, or receiving money from someone else. There was no such thing as waiting until you see the person next to settle up a bill.

For: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), and iPad with iOS 5.0 or later
