Books by Spreadsong, Inc. makes sure you're never without a good classic to read.

This app gives you access to the 23,469 classic books within its library, all for free. After downloading them you can use the app's e-reader to read them all. Each book includes a review and a high resolution covers.

Features of this app include an extensive handpicked selection of classics that include ghost stories, English 101, romance, banned books, theology, and more. In fact there are 61 collections that you can browse through to make finding a title easy and quick. Material includes the philosophy of Plato and Seneca, autobiographies of Carnegie and Franklin, letters from leaders, works of "geniuses," and even the work of Shakespeare.

All the books include beautiful covers so adding to the classic feel of this app. If classics aren't your thing there is a new Modern Books collection now available as well. For each book’s detail screen related titles are suggested to help you discover new books.

When reading the app lets you use night mode, swipe to turn the pages, change font sizes, highlight passages, and bookmark pages. In this latest version you can now read your own e-books free within the app using ePUB. To read them you'll need to drop them into Dropbox and then import them.

Books was updated on Feb. 13, 2013 and currently has 198 customer ratings with an average rating of four and a half out of five stars.

This is a wonderful, quick, and easy way to read classic books. I liked that now you can also read modern books as well.
