The Design Museum Collection for iPad

Price: Free

The Design Museum Collection for iPad by Design Museum is a reference app that brings you some of the most incredible objects the London Design Museum has to offer to your iPad.

This app is ideal for those with an interest in design who have never had a chance to visit the museum or for those who are a fan of the museum collection. The app features 59 pieces of the collection that are described through text, audio, film, and photographs, letting you feel as though you're viewing them in real life. The Design Museum's focus is on industrial and architecture design.

While you're looking at the items you can perform a search by such terms as color, time, location, material, designer, or manufacturer.  The app allows you to view images in a grid or as an individual image for more detail on it.

Those interested in classic pieces will find such items as the Dyson vacuum, the Face magazine, the Anglepoise lamp, the British telephone box, the Kindle, and the Vespa. The collection is incredibly vast appealing to all tastes, styles, and interests.

Use the app to enjoy video commentary from the Design Museum Director, Deyan Sudjic and the Design Museum Head of Learning, Helen Charman.

The Design Museum Collection for iPad was updated on Sept. 18, 2012 and currently has eight customer ratings with an average rating of four out of five stars.

I really liked that this app was more than just pictures of the objects. It made great use of the interactive features you can find on the iPad so you could enjoy videos and audio commentary.

For: iPad with iOS 4.0 or later
