Alarm Clock Pro by iHandy Inc. turns your iOS device into a beautiful alarm clock.

Most of us hate the sound of the alarm clock going off in the morning but imagine if you had the most beautiful and sweet sounding alarm ever? Maybe then you would look forward to hearing your alarm go off. I can’t promise Alarm Clock Pro will be all of the wonderful things mentioned previously but it’s a start.

This app makes full use of the bright and colorful display of the iPhone and iPad to display an LCD-like clock image that can change colors from blue, cyan, green, orange, and more. You can also set it to either vertical or horizontal mode depending on your preference.

Time can be shown in either 12- or 24-hour formats and you can show the seconds or not. The alarm can use songs or even a full playlist for the wake sounds or you can use one of the 11 included alarm sounds. The snooze button is super huge making it impossible to miss when you are half asleep and fumbling in the dark; a really great feature. You can also shake the device to set the snooze.

Alarm Clock Pro was last updated to Version 1.8.1 on March 4, 2013 and included several bug fixes. There have been 913 reviews of this app with an average score of 4.5 out of five stars.

I really like this alarm app. It is bright and attractive and works very well. The music playlist is a cool feature but I am terrible for waking to music so I stick to the included alarm sounds which work just fine.
