TeachMe: 2nd Grade by 24x7digital LLC is a fantastic education app for your iOS device.

The fourth installment of the TeachMe series, this app teaches your child six subjects that are age-appropriate: fast addition, fast subtractions, long addition, long subtraction, sight words, and spelling.

Like the other apps in the series, TeachMe: 2nd Grade uses coins as a reward system. They can use their earned coins to buy fun stuff in TeachTown. They can collect stretchable shapes, visit their aquarium, make fun photos, and decorate different scenes.

The user interface is meant to be simple and easy for kids to use so you don’t need to supervise or help with instructions. The animated teacher, Mimi Mouse, will provide feedback and verbal instructions.

The app uses TeachTech, a proprietary writing recognition engine that reads your child’s answers. When needed, the app will show your child how to write the proper answer using the correct stroke order.

To help with motivation, each child has his or her own achievements screen that shows levels and progress. Parents can also view the screen to see how each child is doing in each subject. Parents can set specific questions, set difficulty levels, and choose which subjects they want their children to learn. Finally, they can see the performance history for each child in each subject to make sure he or she is progressing properly.

Features of the app include more than 175 different stickers, eight different sticker reward scenes, and friendly learning for up to 40 kids without any in-app purchases.

TeachMe: 2nd Grade was updated to Version 1.3 on September 2, 1013. The update added a new sticker scene, new shapes, and new aquarium items. It also made enhancements and bug fixes and added new settings. The current version has nine customer ratings with an average of 4.5 out of five stars. Feedback comments are positive.

As usual, I’m not disappointed with this app. Like the first three in the series, this one is well-done and looks like a lot of fun. I can’t wait until my daughter is old enough to use it!
