Story Time for Kids by Teknowledge Software brings kids the joy of an interactive story book on the iPad.

All of the stories you'll find within this app features narration, beautiful illustrations, and fun sound effects. There are plenty of interactive features as well such as being able to swipe text in order to read it, get characters to talk by tapping on them, and learn how to pronounce words by tapping on them.

The app is meant to entertain kids while teaching them how to read. As the story is read the text is highlighted, which helps kids follow along with the individual words. Proper pronunciation is key in reading and this app places a lot of emphasis on it.

As well as the stories there are games in the books as well such as a card designer, coloring book, and a Spot the Difference game. Again they are meant to engage kids in a fun and educational way.

The app comes loaded with free books but you can also purchase more through in-app purchases. Before purchasing a new book a sample can actually be downloaded. The app can also be password protected so that kids aren't making in-app purchases without permission.

Story Time for Kids was updated on Mar. 7, 2013 and currently has 505 customer ratings with an average rating of three out of five stars.

The interactive features here are wonderful for kids and really draw them into the books. I liked the fact that the app offered password protection so if the kids are using the app on their own no books get purchased without parental consent.
