GPS Phone Tracker by JLC Mobile lets you put your GPS to work by locating your friends.

If you'd like to be able to track friends and family this iPad app is able to help you out by using GPS to track and follow them. This is great when you want to know your kids have arrived home safe, when to expect your significant other home for dinner, and even when you're meeting up with a friend. You can view people in the same city as you and anywhere else in the world.

Features of the app include being able to locate a person with an accuracy of 30 feet, track someone's movements for up to four hours prior, attach photos to the pin on your map so you'll know who you're watching quickly and easily, view log locations every two to 50 minutes, and select a time frame to see someone's movements.

The app uses street and satellite maps to track movements. You will need permission from the person you are tracking in order to view their location from that point on, as well as up to 48 hours prior. With the free version you can track one person at a time.

GPS Phone Tracker was updated on Aug. 13, 2012 and currently has 666 customer ratings with an average rating of four and a half out of five stars.

This app is both fun and useful giving you a great way to track loved ones. I liked using it when meeting up with a friend to perfectly time the arrival.
