It's able to provide you with a map that doesn't require a cell phone signal which means you can use it anywhere. This map will show you everything from landmarks, to streams and lakes, to terrain. It gives you the full directional picture featuring maps in all of the 50 states.

What stands out about this app is just how vast it is. While there are many apps available that provide you with maps there aren't many that includes such information as where to find hills, mountains, ponds, a local road, freeway, or highway. You'll even find railways, trails, buildings, and polygon features included.

This app gathers its information from OpenStreetMap so you know you'll be getting the latest and most up to date information. Information from the US Census is also used.

One very cool feature of this app is the creation of your own track as you move. At any point you can replay this track to see just where you've been.
