Speech Sounds on Cue for iPad Lite (US English) by Multimedia Speech Pathology is meant to be used for speech therapy treatment in order to help with articulation of words.

This app is ideal for those who have problems with articulation due to speech difficulties such as apraxia. The app works to intensify the treatment a person is receiving by using B. Hill's carrier phrase facilitation drills mixed with J. Rosenbek's stimulation approach. The idea of the app is to give intensive independent practice for Motor Speech Disorders.

All audio and video provided in the app was recorded by US speech pathologist Terri Nichols, MS, CCC-SLP, who acts as a clinical consultant to Bungalow Software, Virginia, US.

It should be noted that this is the Lite version of this app and only covers the "W" consonant. You will need to make the in-app purchase for full access.

Features of the app include exercises that target one word, divided into 20 consonant positions. Each of these exercises features the written word, a color photo, a video clip of a speaker, written and auditory trigger phrase, and it records and plays back the patient's voice with a model sound so the two can be compared.

For anyone with speech issues this is an excellent way to continue therapy, training, and exercises at home by using proven techniques and methods. I thought it was great that you could record the patient and then compare it to a model sound to help with the therapy process.
