The Transit App

Price: Free

About the App
The Transit App by Samuel Vermette is a navigation app that will help you find your way using public transit in select cities. You can use this app to quickly find departure times of public transit routes that are local to you. This is great if you're new to the city, rely on public transit, or you're a tourist looking for information on getting around. The app was updated on May 30, 2013. The languages available in the app are French and English.

User Experience
The app has been designed to be very user friendly so that all the information you need can be located easily and quickly. The developer understands that if you're traveling around and relying on public transit, you need convenient and quick access to route and schedule information. There is even offline access to itineraries and schedules. What's great is that the information provided is constantly being updated and supported by the Transit agencies, which means it’s reliable. Navigating through the app is a breeze even though the information you’ll be getting is very detailed and complete.

Features
Now here's where this app really shines: it is absolutely loaded with terrific features. Make use of such features as real-time itineraries and schedules, real-time vehicle locations on the map, the ability to mark routes as favorites, a trip planner that will give you four different options to your destination, a Smart Direction save that keeps track of the direction your prefer to take to a certain location, and location offsetting so you can even view routes to different destinations.

Update Info
The app is currently using version 2.0.1 and recently underwent a number of updates/improvements. These included real-time vehicle locations, an auto-complete for locations, and a transit mode that allows you to disable specific modes. Enhancements were made to the schedule popover, users now have the ability to sort the order in Nearby mode, and now you can offset your location no matter what stop you may be at. Let's not forget the many bug fixes that were also made.

Customer Ratings and Feedback Comments
The app currently has 37 customer ratings with an average rating of four out of five stars. In general most users were very impressed with the app commenting on its simple design and an impressive user interface.

With the latest updates it gave the app even more features that were useable and welcomed. As for the way the information was displayed I was also impressed with the different modes you could use so that you can view the information the way that is best for you.
