User Experience
There isn’t really a whole lot to this app as far as interface and otherwise but the concept is that it can cause you to become muddled and unable to speak. The app records you as you speak and plays it back on a time delay which is designed to confuse your brain and cause you to stutter and stumble over your own words.

This is based on the same research that allows people who already stutter to speak clearly. There is a slight delay of only a few milliseconds from the time you speak until the voice is repeated back to you which can interrupt the brains ability to process the speech currently coming out of your mouth.

 

Features
This app features a very simple interface with only a brief tutorial on its purpose and the way it functions. From there you can start and stop the playback at any time. They recommend that you point the device directly at the person you are attempting to use it on and that it be in a relatively quiet room so as to minimize interference. You should turn up the volume and make use of the apps built in sound booster to maximize the performance by increasing the feedback that the user receives.

Update Info
Speech Zapper was last updated to Version 1.1 on August 9, 2012. Some of the updates done included a completely new user interface. There is also now a new delay control that allows you to adjust the amount of time that passes between the actual voice and the repeat recording. This makes it possible to adjust the delay for maximum effect on those who seem to be immune to the Speech Zapper. The new interface is much sleeker and more attractive than the previous version.

This app has received an average rating of three stars over 30 ratings. Most customers felt this app failed to perform as advertised and would like to see updates that improve its effectiveness. It is supposed to now work much better with the newer version; however, it does seem to be subjective based on the on the intended target.

I was thoroughly optimistic when I downloaded this app but it left me quite disappointed. It seemed to work but not very well. Depending on whom you were trying to affect with it the results were hit or miss. A person who is able to tune out the sound of the vocal repeat would not be affected.
