Rail Maze is a new take on the traditional maze game. The back drop of this game is the Old West and gamers have to do much more than navigate complicated twists and turns that can be found in most other maze games.
In Rail Maze, gamers can choose from four different types of game play: "Labyrinth", "Build Railroad", "Snake", and "Longest Railroad". In the "Labyrinth" mode, gamers must rotate railroad tracks to get from start to finish. There are pitfalls to be mindful of such as colliding with pirate trains or even your own cargo cars. In the "Build Railroad" mode, gamers get to build their own railroad using a given set of railroad pieces. As with the "Labyrinth" mode, the goal is to get the train from start to finish. "Snake" mode is an endless play game and the point is to collect as many stars as possible without colliding into anything. In the "Longest Railroad" mode, the point of the game is all in the name. The goal is to build the longest railroad possible. The catch here is that the train is moving as you are building, so you'll need to keep up and lay down tracks as fast as you can so your train doesn't run off course.
Rail Maze is not a super thrilling game and has so-so graphics, but it is engaging enough. Rail Maze has the fun novelty theme of the Old West and its various modes of game play make it more interesting to play fending off boredom for a good amount of time. Gamers may find Rail Maze a great game for a train or bus commute, waiting at the doctor's office, or anything that requires idle waiting time. Although true gamers may not want to spend their free time playing Rail Maze, this game is a fun way to casually to kill some time.
