7 Minute Workout by Bytesize is a great health and fitness app that will help you get into shape in just seven minutes at a time. The app was updated on June 11, 2013 and requires 1.4MB of storage space. It's normally $0.99 so get it while it's free!
The app gives you a high-intensity workout that uses bodyweight exercises to get you in shape. This is perfect for anyone who is short on time or doesn’t have a gym membership. It would also be great for people traveling with no access to weights or cardio machines.
When you first launch the app you’ll see a list of the 12 exercises: jumping jacks, wall sits, push-ups, abdominal crunches, step-ups onto a chair, squats, triceps dips on a chair, planks, high knees running in place, lunges, push-ups and rotations, and side planks.
When you click on one of the exercises you’re taken to a description page where you get detailed instructions on how to perform the exercises, as well as a YouTube video that shows you the move.
At the bottom of the launch page is a button to start your workout. After you click it, you’re given a countdown to get ready and then you start. Make sure you have a chair or stool and a wall you can use. You get 30 seconds to do each exercise and 10 seconds rest between each exercise.
Features of the app include video and text descriptions of all exercises, countdown timers and prompts, clear-cut exercise plan, and simplistic design.
There are no in-app purchases.
The app is currently running on Version 1.2. The update made the app universal.

This is a really simple, well laid-out exercise app. It’s great for beginners or advanced users alike, and especially helpful for those who have no special equipment or just don’t have time to get to a gym. I don’t see that it would necessarily replace a regular gym workout but it is definitely a good supplemental plan.
It’s really easy to use and follow and I especially like the voice prompts so I don’t have to constantly look at my iPhone to see what’s next.
