Introduction

minube by Minube is a travel app that is meant to inspire you when it comes to traveling. Read about real-life experiences from more than 500,000 travelers. What's even better is that these experiences and adventures are being shared in real-time so you know you're getting current information. The app was updated on June 12, 2013 and is available in English, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

User Experience

There are lots of features and aspects to this app, all of which has been made to be very user-friendly. The goal is for the user to walk away having gained information and enjoyed a fun experience. In the most current version of the app a number of re-designs were introduced making for a cleaner, better overall experience.

Features

With this app you'll be able to discover places to visit all over the globe and learn about great eateries, points of interest, shopping, and everything else. You're also encouraged to invite your own friends and family to join which can be done with an invite by text message, email, Twitter or Facebook.

Create your own profile such as information about yourself and a picture and then search other people's profiles. When you travel you can share your own experience though text, photos, and videos.

Don't forget this sharing of information is all in real-time. Create a list of a destination or place and then start to create the perfect itinerary for this destination. You can share this list or keep it private, and once you download the list it will be available to you offline. The Inspiration screen can be customized to give you destinations that are a certain distance from home, color, number of days, or anything else that inspires you.

Newer features include being able to edit your experiences even after uploading them and there is a full-screen draft tab when you're writing about your experience.

In-App Purchases

There is a number of in-app purchases all priced at $0.99 each.

Update Info

Version 3.6.0 now features a timeline of changes. This means you can view your friends’ activity, the best from minube, and the places you share. The My Places and user profile sections both feature a re-design and now there is no need to download a list in order to view it.

I thought one of the best parts about this app was the fact that it was global so you were getting a huge variety of information. What a great way to discover new and exciting adventures and destinations around the world through not just text but also photos and video! I also really liked that the information was all in real-time so you knew it wasn’t dated.
