FirstYear (Baby Activity Tracker) by Yi Ding is an app that has been designed for parents to use during that first year of their child's life. Because the first year is busy, hectic, and seems to fly right by, it's easy to forget appointments, events, and just get caught up in all the details. This app helps you stay organized by allowing you to track your baby's daily activities in a quick and easy way. The app was updated on June 29, 2013 and is available in English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
Parents are super busy during the first year of their baby's life. If they are going to use an app on a regular basis to help track activities about their baby, it needs to be easy to understand, fast to use, and most of all, extremely helpful. The user interface makes sure to tick off all these boxes by allowing you to enter in events with just two taps. Quick and easy seems to be the mantra of this app.
Features of this app include being able to record such key daily activities as sleep, diaper changes, feeding (formula and/or nursing), developments, activities, and sickness. Additionally, you can record your pumping and nursing sessions and manage your expressed milk or formula feedings.
Use the app to also record details about diaper changes so you can watch for dehydration, monitor diarrhea, and identify constipation. Health issues such as temperature, doctor appointments, symptoms, allergies, and medications can all be entered.
There is a growth percentile section to use and a search and index function. The app also allows you to take a picture of your baby or use one from your Camera Roll to add to your scrapbook journal section. If you happen to be a proud parent of multiples, don't worry, as you can create as many profiles as you want.
There are many more features; so many we can't go into them all here.
In order to access the full version of the app you will need to make an in-app purchase of $4.99.
Version 1.2 features minor bug fixes, improvements in the performance of the app, an input ruler precision setting section, and the ability to export data to CSV files.
This app currently has 20 customer ratings with an average rating of five out of five stars. Users love how easy it is to use and the fact that it helps them stay organized during that first year while they track the important details.
I found this to be a wonderful way to track and record details and data during Baby’s first year. Because parents are always on the go during that time it has to be quick and easy to use, which this app definitely is. I liked that you could also create as many profiles as you want which was ideal for homes with multiples.
