Magic Stickers! app review: gives kids the power to use their imaginations

Introduction

Magic Stickers! by PlayDate Digital is a fun stickering app that helps kids see regular objects and turn them into fun creations. It’s great to use on the iPad, with its larger viewing screen and bigger perspective for small fingers. It was updated on June 27, 2013 and requires 133MB of storage space, so make sure you have WiFi so you don’t burn through your data allowance.

User Experience

First off, there is a Parents section where there are different directions each time to access. This will help prevent kids from turning on the or off the options. One of these options is the ability to disable the links to the App Store. This is also where you adjust audio settings and narration options. There’s also an About page here as well as information about other Lazoo apps.

The different images along the top of the screen will change the background, while the images along the side are all of the different stickers kids can use.

This app is really fun, with seemingly normal household items (a bread roll, sandwiches, broccoli, ice cream, and more) being turned into fun items like a bus, flowers, or flying creatures. It’s up to your child to determine how to decorate these items.

Your child can also create his or her own stickers to watch and use.

After each scene is complete, your child can hit the Go button and watch the scene come to life with animated stickers and background. 

Features

Features of the app include a cool sticker-making tool, free animated videos, eight different animated backgrounds, more than 50 animal stickers, a daily Lazoo craft feed, and the gesture-protected Parents section.

In-App Purchases

There are no in-app purchases but if you have the App Store links enabled you will be shown other Lazoo apps.

Update Info

Magic Stickers! is currently running on Version 1.1.1. The latest update made minor bug fixes.
