Introduction
This app is designed to enable you to manage up to two of your Windows Live Hotmail accounts, as well as providing support for other email providers such as Gmail and Yahoo! Mail in addition to various other features to help you manage your contacts and save data with Push and compression technology.
To put it simply, I’m very disappointed with this app; after several login attempts, I finally managed to access my two Windows Live Hotmail accounts with this app but considering the time it took to get the app working, the ads, and the very basic level of functionality, I’m left wondering why I would want to opt for this app over the standard iOS Mail tool.
Waste of Time?
I never like to give an app a completely negative review unless I truly think it is deserved, but Windows Live Hotmail PUSH emails has done very little besides leave me in a bad mood!
It took me about eight attempts and 10-15 minutes just to get into my email inbox, and I then had a real tough time adding my second Windows Live Account due to the app's frequent crashing. This app was also running very slowly.
The most frustrating thing about trying to log in for the first time is being presented with a Loading screen and nothing else, so I sat there wondering whether to cancel or it leave it to do its thing – needless to say, not a very positive user experience!
Having finally logged in, taken a few breaths, and waited for the urge to throw my iPhone out of the window, I was disappointed even further to see pretty much no features beyond the basics you would expect from managing your email inbox, outbox, and contacts.
Normally, ads wouldn’t bother me but seeing them glaring at me just added insult to injury!
I would love to say that once you’re logged in, everything runs smoothly, but that’s simply not true, so my best advice to Windows Live Hotmail users would be to either use the iOS Mail app or just stick to using the Windows Live Hotmail mobile site, which has served me well.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Access multiple email accounts from multiple providers in one app
Cons
- Major issues with logging in
- App runs slowly and is prone to frequent crashing
Final Words
Having looked at the feedback left by other users, I can see I’m not the only one who has been having problems with this app, and some users have given up entirely because they haven’t been able to log in at all!
I’m going to wrap up this review by saying that this would be a good idea for an app if the developer could start by making it work properly and then improve it further by adding some extra features to inspire people to choose this over other alternatives.
Until the outlined issues have been fixed, I will have to urge you not to use this app.
