Get paid to watch trailers and find new apps, sounds like a pretty sweet deal, wouldn’t you agree? That’s exactly what AppTrailers involves; earn all manner of cash rewards through vendors like PayPal and Amazon simply by sitting and watching videos on your iPhone!
I think this is a fairly novel idea for an app, providing a way for app developers to connect with users and peddle their items. You’ll also find a selection of movie trailers that you can also watch to earn even more points.
AppTrailers basically involves watching movie trailers, downloading apps, and completing various other tasks such as registering with your email address to earn points which can then be spent on things such as the chance to win even more points or credit with well known vendors like Starbucks and Best Buy.
I’ve been browsing through this app and looking at the points that are on offer to try and determine if it’s really worth putting any time into it for a reasonably decent payout. So far it seems that you’re only really likely to earn a decent amount of points if you’ve got a lot of time on your hands.
There are plenty of opportunities to earn points, but is watching a two minute movie trailer to earn five points worth it when it takes 1,000 points to earn a $1 reward?
I’ll leave that for you to decide.
The app itself runs very smoothly and all of the different sections and features are laid out very clearly, with apps, trailers, and other promos split up into their own categories.
I’m impressed with how seamlessly the trailers load and how quickly the points are deposited into your account, and there is also a section for Featured apps where you can take advantage of getting paid apps free of charge. Unfortunately, as I type this, this section currently says “No Paid App For Free Today Please Come Back Tomorrow!”
AppTrailers is definitely worth taking for a test spin, and you can register in about three seconds by using your Facebook account so it needn’t take up much of your time initially.
At the very least, this is a great resource for getting paid apps for free, and I’m definitely going to keep AppTrailers on my iPhone for a while so I can use it to find decent apps in the future.
Is AppTrailers worth the time? I’m honestly not sure!
The best advice I can give would be to check it out and see for yourself; as I said, it works very well and there certainly are some decent rewards on offer, but I think this will also be largely dependent upon how fast your Internet connection is and how quickly you can stream videos.
