Parenting Box for Babies and Toddlers app review: a 3-in-1 tool for parents

Reviews

Introduction

Parenting Box for Babies and Toddlers by AAWE Development Inc. is a three-in-one app to help you stay on top of things when it comes to your baby and toddler. It tracks a variety of things in kids up to three years old, so if you have a rug rat crawling or toddling around, get this app and check it out.

What You Get

When you first launch the app you’ll get a home page view where you can navigate to the Baby Log, Checklist, or Growth Chart. This is also where you’ll find the buttons for Settings, the in-app store, a place to recommend the app to friends, and a spot where you can send praise or info about bugs.

More User Info

With a new baby coming, I was pretty interested to review an app that offers not one service but three when it comes to keeping track of baby stuff. I was kind of disappointed to learn that you can only track feedings with the Baby Log: if you want to track diaper changes or sleep, you have to buy the Baby Log Plus feature for $1.99. Likewise, if you want the Growth Chart Plus, you have to pay an additional $1.99.  For $3.99, you can become a Life Time Member (sic) and enjoy an ad-free experience as well as both the Plus features enabled. Apparently you’ll also get other apps free as they come out.

If you just want to buy the ad-free version, it’ll cost you $1.99.

Honestly, with all the great free apps available, there’s no reason why I would want to pay for an app that does the same thing that I can get for free.

I do like that the counter for tracking feedings actually counts the seconds and you tap to start and stop the feeding.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • It’s three apps in one
  • Easy to use

Cons

  • The free features are very limited and the in-app purchase to get the full version is pretty pricey
  • There’s nothing this app offers in the full paid version that you can’t get for free

Final Verdict

I probably won’t use this app. I’ve reviewed a couple other apps lately that seem to do just as much, if not more, than this one’s paid features, and they were free. Even to pay two dollars to remove the ads seems a bit ridiculous.
