Amrc client for reddit app review a nice and easy-to-use app for all you redditers out there

Reviews

Introduction

AMRC client for reddit is an app created by Alistair Leszkiewicz who claims this is the fastest reddit client around. It’s very simple and easy to use. Simply choose a subject or category and away you go! Swiping navigation makes it easy to go from page to page and the pages load really fast. It’s almost like you are on the normal reddit website. The app has a built-in image, GIF, and YouTube viewer.

So What is reddit?

Reddit is a bulletin board-style website where users submit and post social news, entertainment, and just funny gifs. The page, self-referred to as “the Front page of the Internet,” moderates itself as users vote posts down and up, thus ranking the posts popularity. Within reddit, there are tons of subreddits, which are simply posts organized by category. The app makes these extremely easy to navigate and you can easily swipe from post to post. Swipe to the left and you’ll get in-depth info about the original poster of the article as well as tons of settings, of which you need to be a pro user for some.

The Loading Bar and Going Pro

If you just want to read reddit and nothing else, you have no need to go pro. When you go pro, you will have a lot more options available, like a user history, private messages, more fonts and font sizes, thread submission and much more. This will set you back $2.99. This is a must for any true redditter, as most of these option you will want if you submit to and comment on this website a lot.

My favorite feature of this app is the loading bar. It shows you exactly in percents how much you have downloaded of the gif or photo you want to see. It also shows you how quickly this app actually is.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • It’s fast
  • It’s easy to use
  • It’s just reddit
  • The progress bar is amazing

Cons

  • Subscribe to use most of reddit free features
  • You could as easily go to the website

Conclusion

The developer is right: this is probably the best and fastest app for looking at reddit. It’s a bit sad that people will have to pay to get access to all the apps features that you will have access to when you just go to the website, though.

The app is really easy to use and very fast to flick through tons of the threads and content, while all the images and gifs load really quickly. The app itself is one of the smallest I’ve seen at 3.7 MB and this includes compatibility for both iPad and iPhone. For people who just read reddit, this is the app for you, but for avid reddit users and posters, move along and just visit the website to save yourself some money.
