'Sad Robot' Is A Cosmic Delight And Will Turn Any Frowns Upside Down

Sad Robot by Color Box Software Company Limited is a tilt control game based on a rusty robot traveling the galaxy to clean it while also looking to reclaim love. The retro theme pays off beautifully as does the game's design featuring low pixel characters and enemies. The music is especially catchy and matches the tone and pace of action as Sad Robot journeys through an array of galaxies. Whether you end up loving or hating the game depends on your threshold for difficult games. Or maybe you will love to hate it. Either way, Sad Robot is worth playing on your iDevice.

The game controls  are simple but a tad bit sensitive. Simply tilting the iDevice left or right will have the brightly pixilated character weaving through the starry sky avoiding rockets and mine-like obstacles while collecting coins and temporary boosts. There aren't any adjustment options for the controls so adapting to the game's preset tilt sensitivity while managing to avoid dying long enough to gain enough coins for power ups is the real challenge. Another little hiccup is the theme song which restarts every time you die which ends up becoming an unintentional incentive to avoid crashing and burning.

The game uses Openfeint for leader boards and achievements, but you can opt out and still enjoy the game. In-game menus to access Personal Info, Current Missions, Shopping Card (to buy additional robots, power ups and items) are available. Personal Info includes level, experience, and best score while Current Missions keep track of goals to achieve in-game. Sad Robot is a fun tilt motion game where overcoming the challenging  game play and obstacles make it very entertaining.
