Little Galaxy app review: visit an endless number of planets

Reviews

Introduction

There sure are a lot of worlds for such a Little Galaxy! With its enchanting original soundtrack and eye-poppingly beautiful visuals, this game will have you leaping from world to world and exploring all kinds of planets as you explore the galaxy with a wonderfully simplistic one-touch control system.

This game follows a simple concept: tap the screen to jump from planet to planet, utilizing gravity to keep your feet firmly planted while you collect points, rack up amazing combinations, and discover exciting power-ups that will help to propel you further into the deepest recesses of the unknown.

The Little Prince Meets Super Mario Galaxy?

The sources of inspiration for this game seem to be quite obvious, and it really reminds me of a cross between the illustrations of the book “The Little Prince” and the Super Mario Galaxy video games.

All you have to do is tap the screen to jump from planet to planet, but you’ll have to time your jumps just right so that the gravity of each world catches you and you don’t end up drifting helplessly into space.

You’ll also need to keep an eye on how much time you’ve got left because once darkness reaches you, your fate will be sealed forever!

Each stage features various tasks you’ll have to complete in order to progress further into the game, such as collecting a certain number of points, visiting a certain number of planets, and completing tasks such as rotating around planets a certain number of times.

The social networking junkies out there will be pleased to know that the developer has also included Facebook integration so you can share your high scores with your friends and family online.

This is a truly enchanting game with some beautiful audio-visual content and basic game mechanics which are actually a huge amount of fun.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Highly original planet-leaping concept
  • Gorgeous visuals and an equally beautiful soundtrack
  • Complete various tasks in order to progress through each level
  • Share your high scores with friends and family via Facebook
  • Very artistic concept which seems to be inspired by The Little Prince and Super Mario Galaxy

Cons

  • There is nothing negative to say about this app

Final Words

As you progress further in to the game, you’ll begin to come across various obstacles and hazards such as stars which have a far greater gravitational pull than the planets surrounding them.

I love the gravity dynamic because it introduces a nice learning curve as the game becomes more difficult, so you’ll have to put an increasing amount of thought into timing each of your jumps just right so that you can rack up the highest scores possible and not be pulled into the stars.

This app is suitable for children and adults of all shapes and sizes and is sure to keep the whole family enthralled for hours on end, so I would strongly recommend checking it out - you’ll feel like you’re standing on top of the world!
