Gossip Bucket app review: gossip collecting news feed

Introduction

Gossip Bucket – Celebrity News by MobileInfocentre is a simple news feed app that collects news articles from over 50 different gossip and celebrity news websites. The app is very basic and simple, which is exactly what you need when you want to be able to gaze over the news quickly. Opening a news article shows you the article in the in-app browser, but also includes hyperlinks and photos. You can keep the feed constantly updated with the latest news by pressing the logo in the top of the screen. 

Media Outlets and Categories

As mentioned before, Gossip Bucket gets all its news from over 50 different celebrity and gossip news outlets. You can browse the news per outlet from within the app by selecting it on the left-hand navigation pane. From here you can also go to the Settings menu, where you can filter out different news sites, choose font styles, change the refresh interval, and customize the sharing button with your preferred service. This last option is one I haven’t seen before in any app, and from now on I will expect this from every app!

You can also set your preferences for the internal app browser, as well as clear the history of the app to create more space on your device.

 

Usage Tips and Going Ad-Free

On the right-hand side you can find a small information icon. If you tap that, you will get to see the About page, which as well as being a way for the developer to sell you other apps, also has some really handy tips on how to use the app effectively. These give you some unexpected personalization options and cool swipe control features. T

he other main option here is to go ad-free. This option is being pushed on nearly every page within the app but never seems to be a necessity, as there is only one banner ad in the bottom of the screen which never really gets in the way. Removing these ads will set you back $2.99 and you can restore your previous purchase in-app.

Conclusion

Gossip Bucket is great at what it does. The simple appearance and easy-to-use interface might put people off, but when you dig deeper into the options of this app you will find tons of different ways to make the app work for you and customize it just the way you want. The ads in the app are not annoying at all, but you can pay to switch these off. The app is designed for both iPhone and iPad and is only 7.5 MB in size. Anyone who likes gossip should give this app a go!
