CNNMoney Business and Finance News app review: always have the top news at hand

Introduction

CNNMoney Business and Finance News is meant to be your one-stop-shop when it comes to anything financial news-related. Whether you religiously watch the stock markets or you just have a passing interest in financial news, this is a quick and easy way to catch up on everything.

No Need to Be a Professional

What struck me about this app almost immediately was how well everything is presented and how user-friendly it is. I don’t consider myself any sort of expert in terms of the financial markets, yet I was able to navigate this app with ease. I even found the stories interesting reads because everything went so much further than just stock market news. Basically anything that can affect the markets in the most minor way is covered, which when you think about it is pretty broad.

The app is really an extension of CNN’s coverage, which is something I also enjoy. It feels familiar since CNN is so well-known and trusted.

Now if I was a professional or I was watching the stock markets, the information would be extremely quick and easy to gather thanks to the Markets tab on the bottom of the screen. This was so much easier than looking through the paper! There was also the ability to synchronize with your CNNMoney watchlist for ease of use. The handy search feature also makes it that much faster to find the exact stock you’re interested in.

Also keep in mind that the app offers real-time changes when it comes to your funds and stocks so you never have to worry about how current the information is. You can even receive instant alerts so nothing passes by you unseen.

 

Fast and Simple

When it comes to the stories they load incredibly quickly and you have the ability to share them via email, Facebook, or Twitter. There is video content to check out, which is a bit slow to load but once finished the quality is excellent.

Because this is a free app there are ads within it. You’ll find they show up on the main menu, throughout stories, and on the markets page. I didn’t find them distracting and really didn’t notice them at first.

The Final Verdict

Whether you’re heavily involved in the money market or just have a mild passing interest I think this is an app that holds plenty of merit and is well worth the download. I like that you can personalize it with your own watchlist and receive alerts and that all the market information is in real-time.
