'Homerun Battle 2' Is A Grand Slam Especially For Folks With Deep Pockets

The slam dunk, hail mary, and home run. What do these three have in common? They are all the most interesting part to spectators of their respective sports. Com2uS once again has capitalized on the latter of these three "picture perfect" moments in their newest title: Homerun Battle 2. As the name suggests Homerun Battle 2 is the sequel to Com2uS' original smash hit, Homerun Battle 3D, and other than a few added game modes, updated graphics, and even more in app purchases, Com2uS kept the same winning formula. To recap for those who have yet to play the original, that includes: accurate yet intuitive controls, eye catching graphics, and addicting gameplay. The main goal of the game is also incredibly simple: hit home runs although certain missions may require otherwise (i.e. hit 3 fouls). Though this may sound easy, like real sports it combines a mix of timing and accuracy. Aiming your swing is controlled by the device's accelerometer and the actual swing by a mere tap. There are six different modes of pay in Homerun Battle 2: Arcade, Burning, Trianing, Duel, Survival, and Mission. Arcade, Training, and Duel have all been carried over from the original but the other three are exclusively included in the sequel. Mission mode, which places players four players together who compete to see who can complete the different missions first, is by far the most fun mode of all because its gameplay is very up tempo (a mission never lasts much longer than a minute). The extensive amount of achievements and stats are all kept either on Com2uS' servers or by GameCenter. After you complete almost anything in Homerun Battle 2 you receive "goldballs".  The amount given varies on the occasion, from 1 for hitting a gold ball home run to 1,000 for when your slugger hits 5,000 home runs total. These goldballs can be used to purchase items for your slugger which upgrade his power and contact. Unfortunately, in the name of making more money, Com2uS offers very few (but expensive) goldball items while offering many better (but still expensive) items available for in-app purchase. Don't let the previous paragraph fool you. This game is great. However don't expect to be at the top of the leaderboards unless you're willing to pay through the nose for it. Another thing to have in mind is playing the game requires a stable WiFi connection so if it is not regularly available to you, you may want to reconsider buying this game. Otherwise be ready to have a lot of time taken from your day as you may spend hours upon hours trying to get just "one more" achievement.
