Buzz Me! Kids Toy Phone Free app review: a wide selection of mini games

Introduction

Buzz Me! is an educational kids app that is absolutely loaded with games, features, and of course, fun. The developer says it’s meant for kids ages four and older but I think some younger kids would also be able to enjoy the games and features it offers.

Plenty of Mini Games

Some kids’ apps will tell you that there are plenty of mini-games to enjoy but with this app it’s the truth! There are nine games in the free version and if you upgrade to the full version you'll get an additional 15. Now since I downloaded the free version I’ll just comment on the ones in that app.

One of the things I noticed immediately was how easy this app was to use, with a very kid-friendly design and focus. The developer was well aware of the target audience and really catered to their wants and needs.

Once kids enter the main menu they will be able to select the mini-game they want to play. What’s great is that the icons feature a picture of each game so kids will have no problem choosing what activity they want to do. Besides the mini-games there is also a calculator, an SMS feature that acts and looks just like a mobile device in text messaging mode, and a calling feature so they can dial a phone number and hear it ring. This last game is a great way to teach kids their own phone number.

 

More than Just Games

I really liked that the games were more than just mindless fun. Some featured narration so kids could learn more such as what letter they were pressing, what color they were touching, and the days of the week.

There was no timer function or score keeping so kids could feel free to just enjoy the game and learn at their own pace. This is especially great for kids who get frustrated easily or feel a bit more self-conscious when it comes to learning.

Although the free version comes with a good selection of games I found this app impressive enough that I’d likely purchase the full version for my child. All the games managed to not only capture his attention but also hold it, which is no easy feat!

Worth the Download

I felt this one is definitely worth downloading. I like that the mini games offered a good variety of graphics, skills, and tasks so that your child stays interested and focused. It's great for casual gameplay or for helping to fill a rainy afternoon in a productive, educational way instead.
