Tomohawk app review: help Grumpy Bull fend off waves of attackers to save Mexico from invading forces

Reviews

Introduction

As Grumpy Bull, you’ve got a real tough task on your hands! Travel through the Wild West as you fend off waves of attacking cowboys who are gunning for you, armed with not much more than your trusty tomahawk and the sharpest aim in all the land!

This game features a very nice custom-built graphics engine which complements the style of gameplay very well. You’ll have to aim very carefully when throwing your tomahawk, but you’ll also find all manner of weapons and throwable objects as you dispatch your enemies and advance through the levels.

Time to Clean Up the Wild West!

What do you do when your homeland is under threat from foreign attackers? You take up arms, of course, and show them how you came to earn the name Grumpy Bull!

This shooting spree will take you across the Wild West, taking on progressively difficult challenges in varied environments such as saloons and dusty old streets, and even including some more far-out destinations such as alien outposts.

I won’t reveal too much but needless to say, there are a lot of surprises waiting out there for Grumpy Bull!

To progress through each level, you’ll have to prove your worth by scoring a certain number of points. To achieve this, you’re going to have to take full advantage of the tools and weapons at your disposal by picking up guns, dynamite, and more.

Is Your Aim Sharp Enough?

This game doesn’t really appeal to me personally because you’re basically just tapping a rendered backdrop with pre-programmed enemies popping up in certain locations.

I would like to say, however, that I think it’s wonderfully put-together and the audio-visual elements are very cool. There is a quirky Western-themed original soundtrack which I found quite amusing, and the graphics have a smooth and refined look which is fairly unique to Tomohawk.

I think it would be a good improvement if the enemies didn’t vanish off-screen within a second of you hitting them with your weapons, but the developer has certainly done a great job of producing a fairly simple, yet very addictive game. Tomohawk is definitely worth checking out!

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Help Grumpy Bull take out enemies with a variety of weapons
  • Discover fascinating new locations
  • Custom-built graphics engine
  • Save Mexico and become the hero of the Wild West!

Cons

  • There is nothing negative to say about this app

Final Words

This game reminds me of an old title on the Sega Mega CD called Mad Dog McCree, or perhaps something more modern like Time Crisis.

I think Tomohawk is a great idea for a game and is delivered very well, it looks good, has a great soundtrack, and there are loads of different weapons for you to try out.

Be sure to make Grumpy Bull’s acquaintance but be warned, you’re in for a rough ride! Yeehaw!
