This game is great! I’m a little disappointed by lack of instructions or a tutorial within the game but once you figure out the mechanics, it’s really quite entertaining. I’m pretty awful at Lively Lines so far so I won’t share any of my scores but I’m utterly hooked now so I would definitely recommend trying it out!

The aim is very simple: there is a square grid on the screen with a few varieties of birds scattered around, such as Toucans, Owls, and a few more which I’ve never seen before. You must simply tap a bird and then tap on the square you want to move it to, then watch as it plods along the screen until it reaches its destination.

When one of your birds lands on an egg, it will cause a few extra birds to appear on the screen. You must try to line up five birds of the same variety in a row to clear space as more birds keep appearing.

 

Where Did All These Birds Come From?!

You’ll have to think a few steps ahead and develop strategies to achieve higher and higher scores because you can’t step over other birds, and once the board is full, that’s game over I’m afraid!

Lively Lines has exactly what I love to see in puzzle games: it has a simple concept which is easy to pick up, and it has a nice cartoon-y design.

This means that it is suitable for players of all ages, and is a great way of introducing children to critical thinking exercises and problem solving without them feeling like they’re sitting in a boring classroom.

This game is definitely a lot of fun so be sure to check it out, regardless of your age!

Final Words

If I could suggest just one small improvement, it would be for the developer to include a short section on how to actually play the game.

Aside from this, I think Lively Lines is awesome. It looks great, has a great element of strategy as you plan each move carefully, and I can definitely see myself being hooked for quite a while
