Baby Hear & Read Nouns Lite app review: an interactive learning tool
Introduction
Because parents are always on the lookout for educational apps that will teach their little ones useful skills yet at the same time be fun for them, the Baby Hear & Read Nouns Lite app may be a great option. This interactive learning tool is engaging and cute but does it really teach kids anything?

Combining Fun with Learning
This app puts a lot of emphasis on a kid-friendly user interface that uses 3D graphics and cute pictures that will capture their interest immediately. Kids scroll through a library of 3D animal images, tap on the one they choose, and they are taken to a full-page picture of the animal. The name of the animal is displayed and the narrator says the name, then spells it out, highlighting each letter in the word.

The idea of course is that kids learn to recognize their letters and even how to spell common and simple animal words. Because they are busy having fun the whole learning experience is a lot easier to absorb. The narrator’s voice is easy to understand and goes through each letter slowly.
There is no score-keeping or time clock here. It’s not a competition or a game, it’s simply a way of learning and recognizing words and letters.
Because this is the free version you don’t get all the pictures. The full version features more than 100 pictures but the free version has just a small handful that kids will probably tire of fairly quickly. If your child enjoys the app you’ll likely want to invest in the full version.
Added Fun
The app was designed for toddlers to use on their own so their small hands can easily navigate it. As an added fun feature there are even animal sounds for each picture. Kids can flip through the pictures with a swipe of a finger or they can let the automatic slideshow cycle through all the pictures.

You can personalize the app to suit your needs so you can turn the spelling, animal sounds, and pronunciation on or off. There is no Internet connection needed to use the app and if your child turns the device from side to side, don't worry, as it automatically adjusts between landscape and portrait mode.

Final Thoughts
I think the Baby Hear & Read Nouns Lite app has a lot of merits to it; I especially like the fact that it spells the words for kids to help them learn. However, because there are such a small number of pictures available in the free version, I would either look for another app that offers the same features or just spring for the full version.
