This is a very handy little tool which is designed to take the stress and confusion out of packing for trips. Whether you’re going to Minnesota, Malaysia, or the Moon, uPackingList features everything you could ever possibly need to quickly and efficiently pack your things and get on the move!

Simply put, this app is fantastic! There is so much detail in uPackingList and you can customize lists and items to a high extent, with the added bonus of being able to add certain items you need to a separate shopping list so you can be sure that you don’t forget anything before leaving town.

Upon starting up this app for the first time you’ll be presented with a few different options. You’ll probably want to begin by creating a New List, and from here you can choose to either create one from scratch or create one from an existing list, which appears to be a selection of themed presets.

Assuming you start a new packing list from scratch, you’ll have to begin by giving it a name before you can start adding items to it. I’m very impressed by the way everything is laid out in separate categories such as Accessories, Before leaving, Clothes, Food, Gadgets, Luggage, Money, Shoes, and much more.

You can also create your own custom categories and items within those categories, so there is tons of potential for customizing the various elements of uPackingList. Within each category are some preset items, covering all of the basics such as blankets, hairbrushes, flashlights, cameras, iPods, and so on.

Each item can be customized depending on the quantity you wish to take with you, and you can also add comments to each item or add them to your shop list. I found it quite amusing that you can also add a photograph of each item if you so choose, as you should be able to see from one of the screenshots!

Once your list is complete, you can enter the Pack section in order to start ticking things off as you pack them. You can also email your lists to others which I think is pretty handy because you might need to ask your friend or spouse to grab some supplies from the store before you leave for your trip.

All in all, uPackingList offers a ton of detailed features, and everything is very easily navigable and simple to use, so I would definitely recommend giving this app a whirl before your next vacation or business trip!
