This fun and cute app is ideal for younger kids as a way to enjoy Halloween without actually being frightened. The app has been set up to be kid-friendly and fun so that they can create all the funny Halloween sounds they want.

Okay this one is meant for the kids, but I have to admit I’m having a lot of fun with it. In the free version you’re given a handful of typical Halloween sounds plus some children’s songs that have a Halloween “scare” twist to them. Songs include Baa Baa Black Sheep, Happy Birthday to You, Bingo, and more. Kids will recognize the tunes but love that they have a scary sound about them. Sounds include such things as a coffin opening, a boiling cauldron, an organ, a girl screaming, and more. Don't worry: even though these are meant to be “scary” they are all kid-friendly sounds so nothing is actually going to create fear in them.

In order to work the sounds/songs you simply tap on the picture and you’ll hear the sound. Use the piano keyboard to change the note of the sound. If they would rather just play the piano they can do that as well.

 

Basic Fun

This app is kept very basic and simple. The user interface is clean and uncluttered and there are no extra features here. The only option you are given is to upgrade to the full version, which gives you access to all the songs and sounds. The Pro version will give you over 30 instruments and 10 songs. The Pro version is priced at $1.99, which I have to say seems a bit high for just sounds but I guess if it keeps the kids happy and entertained parents are pretty much willing to pay anything!

I find the Kids Halloween Piano app a great way to enjoy the scares and ghouls of the season in a kid-friendly way. So much of Halloween just doesn’t seem young child appropriate so this is a way to give them some enjoyment of the holiday and let them get creative with their sounds.
