I’ve always loved the James Bond movies, and the gun barrel sequence is such an internationally recognized piece of footage that I suppose it was only a matter of time before it was turned into an app.

I’m glad it has been made into an app because the developer has done a fantastic job at creating an accurate representation of it so I would definitely recommend checking it out. I think you’ll be having a fair few laughs with Skyfall Gun Barrel!

To celebrate the launch of SKYFALL on Blu-ray and DVD, Fox Digital Entertainment, Inc. have put together this very fun app which enables you to feature in your very own Bond-esque gun barrel sequence so that you can feel like a secret agent yourself.

All you have to do is tap the Shoot button and then aim the camera at your target before hitting the Record button. Of course, if you want to feature in your own video then you’re going to have to find a willing camera person to film the action for you.

Once you’ve finished shooting, if you’ll excuse the pun, you can share your newfound license to kill with your friends and family online via Facebook or email so the rest of the world will know that you’re working for Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

 

Shaken, not Stirred

As you might have expected, this app has largely been designed as a promotional tool for the Blu-ray and DVD release of Skyfall, and as such, there are buttons scattered throughout the app which lead you to the Amazon.com purchase page where you can grab yourself a copy of the movie.

All in all, this app has been very well designed, which is exactly what I was anticipating given that this is an officially licensed app.

The user-interface looks great and whenever you start filming you’ll hear the opening few seconds of the James Bond main theme tune which will help you to really get into character. All you need now is a decent suit to really look the part and you’ll be well on your way to becoming the next 007!
