SendNums is only a utility application. I wrote it to analyze problems with telephone numbers in the contacts database.
All telephone numbers will be compiled to a list, that can be sent as e-mail. To honor your privacy, the following substitutions take place:
all digits 0–9 will be replaced by the digit 9,
all letters a–z and A–Z will be replaced by the letters z and Z,
multiple occurrences of the same character will be replaced by the character following a +,
occurrences of + and \ will be escaped by \.
The result looks like a list of regular expressions. The non-letter and non-digit characters are particularly interesting for the analysis of problems.
If you distribute an application that uses telephone numbers of the contacts database, you can react to customer problems as follows: ask the customer to install SendNums and mail you the result.
My thanks go to the MAIL POINT GmbH for the nice icon.
