SongBand Music Quiz App Is Blowing It’s Competition Out Of The Water The new music quiz app SongBand, developed by Kikiwa combines everything that we already love about the much-loved SongPop app with loads of new features including; fun picture rounds, buyable weapon ‘items’ to use against your opponents, the ability to rate each round to make sure that only the best quizzes stay in circulation and finally, the ‘quiz maker’ function that allows users to curate and share their own quizzes to other SongBand gamers. SongBand contains loads of different quizzes to choose from such as speed rounds, picture battles and item matches with fun themes like ’80s & ’90s, hits from 2014 and ‘sweet songs’, as well as three additional categories that can be purchased for 30 in-app ‘coins’ including hits 2015, dance tunes and movie soundtracks.

To play, users must complete five-question rounds in which they have to match a snippet of a song with the correct album art. At the end of each quiz users are asked to rate it, not only does this feature filter out the best rounds, but if users comply, then they can also earn up to three coins to be put towards ‘items’ that can be used against future opponents. One such item is the ‘ice block’ weapon, which will block your opponent's ability to answer questions for at least five seconds (if they don’t possess a remedy item) giving the you the upper hand in speed rounds.

The app itself is full of bright, colorful graphics with an easy-to-use interface and simple navigation. It’s free to download from the App Store, compatible with both iPhone and iPad and available in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. SongBand also links directly to iTunes and Youtube, allowing users to play songs directly from the app as well as share their good-time feels on FaceBook, Twitter and Mail.
