According to MasterFont, a font library based in Israel, there are over 800 different Hebrew fonts available today. Commonly used fonts like Times New Roman, Courier New, Arial, and Helvetica already have Hebrew characters. Originally, Hebrew texts consisted of palaeo-Hebrew characters, which were based on the Phoenician alphabet. Meanwhile, the Hebrew alphabet has 22 consonants that have the same figures for both uppercase and lowercase letters. When reading Hebrew, you read the text from right to left just like the Arabic texts. Moreover, there are four Hebrew consonants that can be used to sound like vowels and five letters that change forms when placed at the end of words. And on that note, here are some of the popular Hebrew fonts used in creating website content.

.

FrankRuehl

Created by Raphael Frank in 1908, FrankRuehl is a modern Hebrew font and is known to be the most common typeface with Hebrew characters. It works with Latin fonts such as Georgia and Times New Roman. It comes many variations; you can avail it in different sizes, as well as in bold, italic, or bold italic.

.

Ploni

This is a precise bilingual font with geometric Sans-serif figures. The characters have many glyphs. Furthermore, it supports 146 Latin languages, making Ploni an excellent font if you want to use Hebrew and Latin letters at the same time. There is no use denying that Ploni consists of many distinct characters. But when you use it on your content, the font will blend well and will not overshadow the other elements of your design.

.

Caravan

Based on the early Israeli font style, Caravan is a flexible Hebrew topography with a sturdy and stable look. It is available in two weights - normal and extended, which you can use separately or a combination of both. If you are thinking of creating a bold and striking design, then Caravan font is one of the best choices you can have. It works well on websites, blogs, posters, and other forms of media.

.

Synopsis

Taking inspiration from the classical and traditional Hebrew letters, the Synopsis typeface is characterized by attractive curves and well-complemented serifs. It took three years to develop this font, undergoing numerous readability tests to achieve a book letter. For those who are not aware, a book letter is a typeface used in writing long, easy-to-read texts. It has weight variations, including ultralight, light, regular, demibold, and bold. The Synopsis is also a flexible font as it can work well with Latin fonts like Georgia and Scala.
