Supply for the newest iPhone models has finally met demand because all iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models are now available in the Apple Store online. The U.S. store shows that every variety is now in stock, in all colors: space grey, gold, and silver. All capacities are also in stock. Further, it’s ready to ship for all four major carriers. The SIM-free version has a wait time of one business day.
It’s not unusual for each new iPhone release to encounter supply problems but it seems like the newest release has taken longer to match demand. Piper Jaffray analyst looked at 80 Apple Stores in December and found that only 56 percent of the models were in stock. Comparatively, supply for the iPhone 5S matched demand a couple of weeks earlier; however, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are totally different from the previous versions whereas the 5S was just an upgrade over the 5 including the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and a faster processor. The 6 range is a whole new size.
